i dont know how i can fail most part of pranks. i am too clever or too stupid, but i really dont understand how to be caught after pranking someone

old comment but. Its all chance based. If you trick or treat the houses it shows the chance of failure. Doing those increases your chance of being caught on the bigger pranks

is there a walkthrough or some sort of guide to this game? can't figure out how to get all the endings :(

the specific endings i'm stuck on are samantha (coffee shop) and stephanie (that place to the right of town)

Same reason this game is the only one with a developer commentary: an abundance of spare time and a relatively short game. That being said, the next thing I make will probably be small enough that I can do this again.

Probably not, but there are lots of options for mobile users to play this game already. Joiplay is one that a lot of my users have reported as working well with my games.

they are on the sidewalk in the left side of town, just click on them. but who told you to get the cigarettes? IDK how to get that quest!

Edit: OK, for storekeepers you need to click exactly the right place on their counter to trigger talking to them properly (otherwise it thinks you want to walk behind the counter & you get the wrong dialog)

I don't understand how to use the ring. it seems to have no effect. do i have to wear it somehow? Thx

Update: Same with the "R.F." (trying to avoid spoilers.) I notice nothing different after obtaining it. Also can't think of anything to do with a few locations that i have neither tricked nor treated. Stuck at 9/11.

The ring just works passively. If you're wearing it, the bully won't mess with you. The RF protects you from 3 game overs and it'll tell you when a use has been consumed. Which locations are you stuck at?

Gotcha, thanks. Not stuck, but I think at the time it was unclear to me that the shops were prank-able. I was getting dialog with the shopkeepers but wasn’t aware of the small hit area I needed to click on to get the 'right' dialog with them (as a customer apparently instead of just person-to-person). that’s what had me stuck.

Just in time for Halloween!

macOS says I do not have permission to open Game.app. What’s up?

Make sure you're playing the game in a directory that you have read/write access to. MacOS is notorious for not cooperating with RPG Maker games.

Update: I defeated the permission thing but cannot play. read below

Hmm. I definitely have R+W privileges on the app and the folder it’s in. I set R+W privileges recursively to the Contents folder inside the .app. Nothing fixed the issue.

If I try to `open` the app in Terminal, the error message is a little more specific: 

> The application cannot be opened for an unexpected reason, error=Error Domain=NSOSStatusErrorDomain Code=-10826 "kLSNoLaunchPermissionErr: User doesn't have permission to launch the app (managed networks)"


Update: As suggested on Stack Overflow, running this command helped:

sudo chmod -R 755 /Path/to/SOT.app

Because the game is unsigned, however, it still will not run right away, but that is at least a solvable problem that advanced mac users know about.

However even once the game is running, it only shows the screen below, which i cannot advance past:


Never seen that before. Looks like Node-WebKit.js is having permissions issues as well.

Cool, man. Were you going to fix that or just let Mac users suck it?

I attempted a fix, but I don't have a way to test it, as my development machine is a PC. Is this bug still present for you?
